Drug Composition:

  • Rhizoma Pinelliae Praeparatum (Fa Ban Xia): Processed Pinellia Tuber

  • Radix Astragali Praeparata cum Melle (Zhi Huang Qi): Honey-fried Astragalus Root

  • Rhizoma Atractylodis (Cang Zhu): Atractylodes Rhizome, treated with rice water

  • Poria (Fu Ling): A medicinal fungus

  • Rhizoma Alismatis (Ze Xie): Water Plantain Rhizome

  • Fructus Hordei Germinatus (Chao Mai Ya): Fried Barley Sprout

  • Rhizoma Gastrodiae (Tian Ma): Gastrodia Tuber

  • Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng (Ren Shen): Ginseng Root

  • Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Chao Bai Zhu): Fried Large-headed Atractylodes Rhizome

  • Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (Chen Pi): Aged Tangerine Peel

Method of Administration:

To be taken orally. The recommended dosage is 6 grams at a time, 2 to 3 times a day.[1]

Functions:

This formula is designed to strengthen the spleen, dispel dampness, transform phlegm, and extinguish wind.[2][3] It is used for conditions caused by spleen deficiency leading to an accumulation of dampness and the internal obstruction of phlegm-turbidity. The primary indications are:

  • Dizziness or vertigo[2]

  • Headache[2][3]

  • A feeling of being “wrapped” or heavy-headed[2][3]

  • A sensation of fullness and oppression in the chest and abdomen[2][3]

Contraindications:

It is advised to avoid raw, cold, and greasy foods while taking this medication.
