Drug Composition:

  • Radix Astragali Praeparata cum Melle (Zhi Huang Qi): Honey-fried Astragalus Root

  • Radix Codonopsis (Dang Shen): Codonopsis Root

  • Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Praeparata cum Melle (Zhi Gan Cao): Honey-fried Licorice Root

  • Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Dang Gui): Chinese Angelica Root

  • Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Chao Bai Zhu): Fried Large-headed Atractylodes Rhizome

  • Rhizoma Cimicifugae (Sheng Ma): Cimicifuga Rhizome

  • Radix Bupleuri (Chai Hu): Bupleurum Root

  • Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (Chen Pi): Aged Tangerine Peel

  • Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (Sheng Jiang): Fresh Ginger

  • Fructus Jujubae (Da Zao): Jujube/Chinese Date

  • Excipient: Dextrin

Method of Administration:

To be taken orally. The recommended dosage is 3 grams at a time, 2 to 3 times a day.

Functions:

This formula is designed to tonify the middle burner (spleen and stomach) and augment the Qi, as well as to raise the Yang Qi and lift what has sunken.

It is used for conditions arising from a deficiency of the spleen and stomach and the sinking of the middle Qi, which may manifest as the following symptoms:

  • Physical fatigue and lack of strength.

  • Poor appetite and abdominal bloating.

  • Chronic diarrhea.
