Administration Method
Decoct in water for oral administration. The dosage can be adjusted as needed according to the proportions of the original formula.
Functions
Used for vexing heat in the heart and chest, thirst with a red face, a desire for cold drinks, and sores on the mouth and tongue; also used when Heart-heat transmits to the Small Intestine, leading to reddish, scanty, and painful urination.
Contraindications
Mu Tong in this formula is bitter and cold, and Sheng Di Huang is yin-nourishing and cool in nature; therefore, it should be used with caution in individuals with deficiency and weakness of the Spleen and Stomach.
