Medicinal Composition

Huang Qin (Scutellaria Root) 3g
Administration Method
Decoct the above ingredients in three sheng of water until one sheng remains. Take in a single dose.
Functions
This formula primarily treats conditions where pathogenic fire is blazing internally, forcing the blood to move recklessly, resulting in vomiting of blood (hematemesis) or nosebleeds (epistaxis). It is also used for damp-heat accumulating internally leading to jaundice with chest oppression and vexing heat; or for accumulated heat rushing upwards causing red, swollen, and painful eyes, and sores on the mouth and tongue; or for external sores and carbuncles when accompanied by vexing heat in the heart and chest and dry, constipated stools.
Contraindications
This formula is contraindicated for bleeding due to Yang deficiency or bleeding due to the Spleen failing to contain the blood.
