Medicinal Composition

  • Huang Qi (Astragalus Root, honey-fried) 15g

  • Bai Fu Ling (White Poria) 15g

  • Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood) 15g

  • Ban Xia (Pinellia Rhizome) 15g

  • Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis) 15g

  • Chuan Xiong (Sichuan Lovage Rhizome) 15g

  • Yuan Zhi (Polygala Root, core removed, soaked in ginger juice and baked) 8g

  • La Gui (Cinnamon Bark) 8g

  • Bai Zi Ren (Arborvitae Seed) 8g

  • Suan Zao Ren (Sour Jujube Seed, soaked, skin removed, stir-fried with paper barrier until fragrant) 8g

  • Bei Wu Wei Zi (Northern Schisandra Fruit) 8g

  • Ren Shen (Ginseng) 8g

  • Gan Cao (Licorice Root, honey-fried) 12g

Administration Method
Grind the above ingredients into a coarse powder. For each dose, use three qian (approx. 9-12g) of the powder. Decoct with five slices of fresh ginger and two jujubes. Take before meals.

Functions
Primarily treats the pattern of insufficient Qi and Blood with a restless Heart-spirit (Shen). Symptoms include a trance-like state of mind, palpitations, being easily startled, insomnia, and forgetfulness.
